A little (bare)foot note to the naked rambler saga that transfixed the national media last year...

A pair of playwrights have produced a play based on the exploits of Steve Gough who walked from Lands End to John O'Groats wearing nowt but a pair of hiking boots, stopping only to be arrested on numerous occasions.

Like Gough however, the play has not had a uniformly positive reception with staff at Kingussie High School barring a performance from their premises on the grounds that the content is 'inappropriate for an educational establishment'.

The play reportedly, is a comedy which aims to use Gough's story to explore the attitudes of people to nudity in a serious way. It apparently focuses on a tiny community in the north of Scotland waiting for the naked rambler's arrival.

Who Bares Wins by Euan Martin and Dave Smith is now on a 15-venue tour of Scotland, but not, we fear, in Kingussie. See the full story on the thisisnorthscotrland web site.

More tour details at the Scottish Arts Council.
