German brand Deuter
is probably best known for its pack range in the UK, but this autumn
2008, the company is launching a selection of new sleeping bags with
both down and synthetic fillings.
The synthetic bags, Dream Lite and Travel Lite are aimed at family
camping, trekking, traveling and youth group use, with the Travel Lite
range being the lighter of the two with bags available in 2, 2/3, 3 and
3/4 season ratings for both. Three season and above bags have a
shoulder baffle and the Travel Lite range also includes a long version
of the three-season bag.
The Trek Lite range
is, says Deuter, 'a high quality, down fill design which includes ultra
light and compact bags'. The fill is 90 per-cent down, 10
per-cent feather and like the synthetics, the bags feature shoulder
baffles and full-way zips with anti-snagging zip guards with left and
righthand options, so the bags can be zipped together.
Interestingly, the range includes a square Trek Lite 250 bag - pictured
- aimed at those who find mummy bags claustrophobic. We're not sure
what a psychologist would make of that, but if you feel the need, it's
out there.
Available shortly - more Deuter information at www.deuter.com.
