Multi-coloured lifestyle/approach shoes, coming soon...
New women's Mythos GTX, cheaper than the men's version.
And arguably prettier too.

Latest in our spring 2011 preview is Scarpa with a new range of more advanced trekking boots plus a multi-coloured array of lifestyle shoes named after, erm, cocktails.

Let's get the latter down the hatch first. As you can see, they look colourful and have been selling well on the continent for years, for next year you can expect to see more of them in lots of colours. The Mojito, will sell for £110.

New Trekking Boots

Rather more technical is a new range of trekking boots which Scarpa says offer the 'next generation of fit and control'. The company says it's gone back to the drawing board, looked at what's out there and aimed to improve it.

The men's version is called the Kinesis and the women's, the Mythos. Both shoes use a new sole unit from Vibram and have three layers of PU blended for a mix of cushioning and stability. There's a PU 'Dynamic Shank' for stiffening and an upgraded footbed.

Inside memory foam cushioning gives better comfort and there's a stretch tongue. The women's versions get their own names – a first for Scarpa – and have a different, lighter sole package. They're also £10-£20 cheaper than the men's.

The new boots hit the shops early in 2011. Details of the current Scarpa range at www.scarpa.co.uk.

when will these hit the shops as they are not on the Scarpa website?

Soonish I guess (next month sometime iirc), although no ones websites/catalogues etc seem to have quite updated for summer yet. Asking one of the big shops stocking them would probably get you a proper answer

With importing everything they'll clump stuff into shipments so you end with really quite big and fast shifts between summer and winter.
