Long-sleeve merino wool top - £40

New from Cumbrian-based EDZ and new for review too are a selection of merino wool things including a long-sleeved, crew-neck top, a Multi-tube, gloves and a beanie hat.

EDZ has had a merino top in its range of outdoors and motorcycle clothing for a while, but it's been revamped for this summer. The fabric's the same 200g weight, 100% merino wool as before and is shrink resistant and machine washable plus has merino's characteristic qualities of being able to handle moisture well and be antimicrobial but the design has been tweaked.

That means new flat seams for improved comfort, particularly when used with a pack. The top is, as we said, a simple, long-sleeved crew, is priced very competitively at £40 and is available in men's and women's versions. The fabric feels nice too.

Alongside the top, there are several merino wool accessories. They include a multi-functional Merino Multi-tube – same fabric – which retails for £20. There's also a Merino Beanie which is double thickness and sells for the same price. And finally Merino Wool Gloves with added Elastane for improved stretch and this time, a price tag of £10.

We'll let you know how we get on. More information at
