Swiss boot manufacturer Raichle has launched a new mountaineering boot ready for this year's winter season. It's called the All Degree Lite and it falls at the bottom end of their range, retailing for £130 (compared to £150 for the All Degree High and £160 for the All Degree Pro).

Features include Gore-Tex lining, a Vibram sole (with poro-wedge), and memo foam in the tongue and ankle area. Like the All Degree High boot it's only compatible with strap crampons - not all types of crampon - so it's worth checking before you buy.

The boot also features Raichle's Motion Control concept which uses a plastic device built into the heel area of the boot. This is raised on the inside and works together with a reinforced sole to help keep your feet stable.

It's available in both men's and women's versions - sizes range from 4 to 13 - at a weight of 1490g. We haven't seen it ourselves yet, but if you get your hands on a pair, don't forget to fill us in by writing a member review, or posting your thoughts in the gear forum.

If you fancy giving it a go before you buy it, the good news is that the boot is part of the 'try before you buy scheme', which now operates at a number of retail outlets across the country. To find the nearest one, call 01625 508218. More information from www.raichle.com.

It is just me or isn't this just a redesign that got distributed to shops a lot earlier in the year?
In fact I remember this discussion with SimpleSimon (employee of Ellis Brigham) back in April...

Nope, not just you

Still working for EB Simon?

How has the new design been selling?

Seems a bit strange that they've "downgraded" the design to a beginners mountain boot...
