Latest review on the site is a first look at the 2012 adidas TERREX GTX Active Shell jacket, a 340g lightweight alpine shell made using the impressively breathable and light Gore-Tex Active Shell fabric.

And if you're thinking adidas make nice running shoes, but don't know much about mountaineering kit, you might want to have a second look. The company's brought in a raft of specialist outdoor designers who, in conjunction with the brand's sponsored climbing team, are producing kit that's right up there with more established outdoors brands.

In particular, not only are you getting top notch fabrics and neat detailing and cut, but adidas is also one of only two or three companies producing what we call 'new school' helmet hoods that can genuinely accommodate even bulky climbing lids and still allow both facial protection and movement. The peak's wired too. And all for a competitive £195.

Interesting huh? Check out our full first look for more details.
