New Review - Rab Vapour-rise Lite Alpine

Rabn's excellent Vapour-rise just got a whole lot lighter. Here's our first look.

First there was Vapour-rise, then there was Vapour-rise Lite and now there's new, lighter, 2012 version in the shape of the Rab Vapour-rise Lite Alpine Jacket, a full-on lightweight mountain soft shell that weighs just 300 grammes in our medium test sample.

And so far, it's one of the best lightweight soft shells we've ever used, particularly if you move fast and run hot, when the balance of decent wind and rain protection with high wicking performance and excellent breathability makes it very, very hard to beat.

Do we really like it that much? Check out our full first look.

I bought one of these at the start of a week up the Lakes last week and in cold drizzly conditions it performed stunningly.

Muz

Fantastic jacket, not clammy and no condensation even with high activity. Keeps a good shower off and is comfy even when soaked through.

Just one question: If the Tricot knitt fabric is designed to wick moisture through the garment, it would appear that it is facing the wrong way where it lines the pockets!?
