New Sync Software For Satmap

SatSync adds support for new file types and geocaching

Our favourite GPS device has had another software upgrade, with a raft of new features included in SatSync v1.200. The new version needs the latest version of the Active 10 software, so check the website carefully for compatibility and the steps to install the update. The new version introduces a whole new graphical interface with direct links to the route planning and sharing software. The new interface also brings a new method of file transfer, with support for direct transfer from the SD card, cutting out the need for any connection to the Active10 itself and really speeding up file transfers.

For many the highlight of the upgrade is support for geocaching, with both .LOC and .GPX files accepted. .LOC files are simple location files whilst geocaching .GPX files can contain additional information on difficulty and terrain. Along with geocaching the new version adds support for both Google Earth and Microsoft Virtual Earth. If you're using a shared computer or Internet Cafe there's also support for route transfer on a Guest Account under Windows XP.
