No More Stinking Shoes...

Honking boots, festering trainers and the terrible fear of removing your footwear in mixed company could be a thing of the past as Grangers announce new 'Odour Eliminator' - da, da, da....

Grangers are clearly on a mission to render the outdoor world fresh and fragrant. First there was the Xtreme Cleaner Plus with added stinky bacteria inhibiting ingredients, now they have their sights set firmly on ponging walking boots and trainers...

The Derbyshire company's latest product - coming soon - is 'Odour Eliminator' a water-based footwear spray that, they say, not only absorbs - rather than masking - odours, but also inhibits the growth of the bacteria that create odours in the first place.

Apparently the warm, damp, climate inside your shoes or boots is an ideal breeding ground for bacteria which double in number every 20 minutes, so if you left your shoes long enough, they'd eventually fill your entire house...

Thankfully Grangers should be able to prevent that from happening. And as an added bonus, the odour-absorbing agent is claimed to work instantly, making it ideal for those tricky dates with people who want to tear your shoes off...

So here's to you, Mr Laboratory Guy. Can we have some please?

More Grangers info on their web site.

Has anybody used this stuff and do you know if with some heavy handed application would rid my stickies of the toxic pong that comes from their mad rubbery depths.

Seriously tho they really are quite evil and im sick of them contaminating other gear when shoved in a rucksack. Fabreeze etc al has no efect apart from mixing with the smell and adding a cat piss type smell. Anything to be rid of it would be fantastic. esp as the shoes aint that old!

Ben,

NOTHING will stop rock shoes smelling.

But theres a simple way to prevent them contaminating your other kit - stick 'em in someone elses bag.

True, NOTHING will stop rock shoes smelling.

but you can keep it under control:
Try a few drops of tea tree oil inside them and if you're not going to use them for a few days, put them in a plastic bag and leave them in the freezer. keeps them bearable for another 2-3 sessions
