Odlo Goes Ninja For Winter

Close-fitting Ninja hood and face mask should work well with helmets and/or goggles as well as under a shell jacket hood.

New for this winter 2012, Odlo's award-winning Ninja Shirt is an interesting looking winter base-layer top that incorporates a close-fitting hood with integrated face-mask designed to work with or without googles to give maximum facial protection.

Available in both men's and women's versions, the Ninja - no prizes for guessing why it's called that - is made from a synthetic - we think - high-wicking fabric complete with a proprietary silver-based anti-odour treatment called Effect and complete with a brushed inner surface and flat-locked seams for comfort.

There's that close-fitting integrated hood and, as you can see from the images, a face mask that covers the entire lower part of the face. It also features thumb-loops to seal the gap between your gloves and cuffs.

We've found this sort of close-fitting hood with facial protection ideal for use under a climbing or cycling helmet as an alternative to a balaclava in really cold winter conditions though an extra hood can be slightly distracting when not in use, particularly if you need to layer it under a waterproof shell.
