Fuera Ascent & Summit Hoodie

Last month we showcased our Ladies’ and Men’s Velez Adventure Light Smocks. The Velez Adventure Light provides all the multi-activity features of the best-selling Velez Smock but comes with a FIXED roll-away hood, as requested by competition and race entrants where this feature is a requirement to guarantee protection in all weather conditions. In addition it utilises Nikwax Analogy Light, a new lightweight fabric that gives Full Directional waterproof performance.

This month we introduce you to our New Fuera Ascent & Summit Hoodie

Our new technical Summit Hoodie and Fuera Ascent are an exceptionally versatile mid layer/windproof combination for worldwide summer alpine and multi-activity use. Designed to offer the equivalent functionality and protection as our top of the range Aspira Smock or Jacket but with added flexibility, it’s harness, rope and helmet compatible and suitable for temperature extremes of -20º to +20ºC.

The Directional Fleece/Windproof fabric provides renewable water-repellency and moves water away from you while providing excellent insulation, breathability and windproofing. The generous sleeve/torso vents allow excellent temperature control and work systemically with one another to create a highly flexible duo, precisely adjustable for variable conditions.

Very disappointing on the weight front - nearly a kilo for the two??

Way over-engineered with all those zips, vents and wotnots.

    Definitely not for me!

Oooh! Controversial opinion on Paramo land here. I'm ruled out of the equation though usually as cannot afford most Paramo kit anyhow! But I think I sure would if I could do.

Great idea to separate shell and liner and with less engineering (lose the vents and zips) and light weight liner and wind shell they could make a combo that came in at less than 500 gm that would also be perfect for all those that say Paramo's too hot in Summer (true!).

I love the Paramo system for Autumn through to Spring and a BIG FAN of the kit and concept.

This looks geared towards climbers or something, which I'm not. ( and if I was I'd just get an Aspira)
