Peak District Walking Festival For 2005

Coming next spring, the first ever Peak District Walking Festival with walks above and below ground, apparently. You can pre-register for a guide right now.

If you can see past the looming pantechnicon of festive fun that is Christmas, that distant speck further up the road might just be the first Peak District Walking Festival hurtling towards you.

The programme's set to run for two weeks next spring from om April 16 to May 2 and will be spread right across the area from the Hiogh Peak, via the Derbyshire Dales through to Staffordshire's moorland.

There will be a huge spread of guided walks with local experts filling you in on the more arcane details of Peak life, history and geography and what's more, they won't all be above ground - some of the walks will take in local caverns and towns. Although towns are above ground, but hey.
