There's a fabby scoop offer coming your way from 1 July, if you
pre-order from Lowe Alpine's new range of top-end eVENT technical
mountain jackets and pants, you'll be able to save a whopping 20
per-cent on the list price.
All you have to do is pre-order and reserve your jacket by the end
of August at participating retailers throughout the UK and Ireland
and you'll automatically get 20 per-cent off. The final list of
retailers isn't available yet, but you'll be able to find it on the
Lowe Alpine web
site from the beginning of July.
Impressive Performance
OM regulars will recall that we've been highly impressed with the
performance of the prototype Lowe eVENT jacket and pants we've been
using for around six months. We reckon that along with Gore's New
Paclite, it's significantly more breathable than any other
conventional waterproof fabric we've used.
The test jacket has evolved into the top of the range Evolution
jacket - pictured - but when we previewed the new range earlier this
year - see links at the bottom of this article - we liked the more
conventional Elite jacket and the smock version. The pants are
basically the same as the test pants we've been using and work very
well indeed.
You can also find price details in the previous article.
Lowe Alpine is going to be using Gore-Tex from autumn/winter 2004
at which point, it seems that none of the major brands will be using
eVENT, so if you want it, you have about 12 months...
