The latest report from our special agent Oliver at the recent Friedrichshafen Show has just arrived by stealth carrier pigeon and the hot news is that Rab is introducing eVENT-lined gloves right about now for use this winter.

We reckon eVENT is the most breathable conventional waterproof fabric out there, so it'll be interesting to see how it performs as a glove liner. Oliver takes up the story....

Rab to cover fingers and hand

Rab has just introduced two "bling" eVENT gloves as part of its new range of, erm... hand insulation devices.  Aside from featuring a very breathable waterproof insert, the Ice Gauntlet includes Primaloft insulation, while the more modest Latok Glove has a fleece lining.  These both feature Pittard's Armortan palms and elasticised cuffs which can also be found on a Primaloft lined softshell gauntlet by the name of Baltoro.

Talk to the hand …the not so chivalrous Ice Gauntlet.

The devil makes work for idle hands.  Enticingly like something a space-age ninja would wear, with its sticky red silicon palm, Neil McAidie tried his best to keep the Latok Gloves out of reach!

The range is completed by three Polartec fleece designs: a Windpro glove with silicon grip; a sticky Powerstretch glove and a plain Powerstretch liner glove.

Available in the stores from the 1 September.  Click here. More glove details at www.rab.uk.com or run down to your local Rab stockist for a test grope!

Gaiters Later...

In March more Rab accessorising will take place when they will release four new eVENT gaiters, the first gaiters available in the UK made of that fabric.  More images are available on their website.

If so would explain why there is a picture of an Outdoors Design event glove.

Sort of. That's why things such as gloves and bivvybags that used to be OD with Gore-Tex are now Rab with eVENT.

Outdoor Designs bought Rab a couple of years ago and decided to drop Gore-Tex and stay with eVENT.
