Raichle Announces Try Before You Buy Scheme
From early next month you'll be able to try a pair of Raichle boots out on the hill for a day then deduct the cost from the purchase price of a new pair if you decide to buy. Sounds good to us.

Boots brand Raichle is launching a 'try before you buy' scheme
which will allow you - as you may have guessed - to try a pair of
Raichle boots out on the hill before deciding whether to splash the
cash and buy a pair.
Initially
the Base Camp scheme will be run at two shops in key locations,
V12 in Snowdonia and West Coast Leisure in Fort William
and a six-strong range of Raichle boots will be available from both
retailers. It says here prices range from £130 to £700.
Erm...
If you hire a pair of boots then decide to buy at the end of the
day, then the hire fee will be deducted from the purchase price of
the new boots, which seems like a pretty decent deal to us.
The two shops initially chosen were selected, say Raichle's UK
importer, because they are 'leading independent boot specialists' and
the scheme is aimed squarely at customers who 'would like the
opportunity to try out mountaineering boots before making the
purchase'.
Half sizes are available and customers can ring the shop in
advance and reserve the size and style of boot they want to try.
The scheme kicks off on 1 February and you can expect to
see ads for it in the walking and climbing press. If it's successful,
it will then be rolled out into other selected retailers.
We reckon it's an interesting idea and obviously ideal if you're
thinking of trying Raichle and want to make sure that the boot suits
your foot and does what you need it to up a mountain.
