Sealskinz waterproof socks definitely have their uses, but being
small and dainty isn't one of them. In fact they sometimes seem to
resemble a medieval condom for feet...
Not much use if you're planning on using close-fitting running
shoes for example, which is why the company is bringing out a new
model aimed squarely at runners, triathletes and adventure
racers.
The new new, ankle-length Ultra Light Sock is 100% waterproof and
is the lightest and thinnest sock SealSkinz have ever made. It uses a
Coolmax inner to wick moisture away from the skin together with an
ultra-lightweight outer.
The high-wicking performance combined with a neat ankle-length cut
say Sealskinz, makes the sock viable in mild but changeable
condtitions too. The socks are out in April, but we should have a
pair on test by the weekend, so hopetully we'll be able to tell you
what they're really like by early next week. Not that it's going to
rain at the weekend of course...
Colour is air force blue, sizes S, M and L and available from the
usual culprits from April. For more about Sealskinz, see the
web site.
