British gear guys Sprayway are positively exploding into 2001.
A little bird tells us that they have more than 35 new lines in
the product pipeline for autumn/winter 2001, which they'll be
launching at next week's outdoor trade show in Manchester. We're
going to be there to bring you details and pictures hot off the
digital presses, but here's a little taster from Sprayway's gorgeous
press supremo, Stephanie Madden.
She tells us that the main focus is on men's and women's mountain
and walking ranges with an expanded dedicated women's section with
properly cut, highly technical women's clothing. Given that one
recent posting to our forum complained that most UK gear
manufacturers cut their women's specific clothing as if the lasses
were 'fat-arsed, short-legged men' it'll be interesting to see if
Sprayway - who generally produce very well-cut stuff, can move things
on.
They also have no less than five new technical men's fleeces 'our
most technical ever' says Ms Madden. The top of the range Dominator
is made from Gore Windstopper, has Taslan-reinforced shoulders and
elbows, more pockets than the average snooker table including twin OS
map-sized chest ones and a fold-away windproof hood.
And that's just for starters. We can't reproduce Stephanie's exact
overall assessment of the range, but think nuts and mutts and you'll
get the idea.
Meanwhile we're still swanning round in the wind-resistant
Sprayway Urban Spirit fleece gilet - see link to test below - and
it's become our fave piece of casual street wear and yes, the Wind
Pro fabric really does seem to be less sweaty than normal wind-proof
fleece - the bottom line is that it's never been an issue.
