Superfeet Announces Women's-Specific Footbed
New for 2007 from foot specialists Superfeet is a women's-specific version of their renowned footbed called the Berry. And look, it's pink :-)

Superfeet has announced its first women's-specific insole,
the Berry which is intended to provide all the benefits of the
existing Superfeet range, but optimised for the female foot shape and
it's due out early in 2007.
Obviously it's a girly shade of pink, but more tangibly, the shape
takes into account the shorter arch length typical of women's feet
and the slimmer profile of the rear of the foot.
The Berry - above - also has what Superfeet is calling a 'forefoot
shock pad' for added comfort which is intended to compensate for the
migration of fatty tissue particularly if high-heeled shoes have been
worn regularly and is made from 'a special rebound material'. Finally
a silver-based fabric called Agion fights pongy insole syndrome.
Why?
Overall the Berry is intended to be a one-stop solution for women.
Like the established men's version, it's a simple orthotic designed
to improve foot support for the majority of people out there who
over-pronate slightly, which can lead to all sorts of biomechanical
issues further up the leg, particularly knee problems.
The footbeds supplied with outdoors footwear offer very little
real support to the arch or the rear of the foot and when the foot is
weighted it can elongate significantly, which Superfeet's new gauge
clearly shows.

The Berry will be in the shops early next year and priced at
£39.95. For more information, see Superfeet's recently
