Swiss boot brand Raichle is extending its try before you buy
scheme into Edinburgh and Glasgow at the Tiso Outdoor Experience
stores.
The
scheme launched in February at V12 in North Wales and West Coast in
Fort William allowing customers to choose from a seven-strong
collection of Raichle Boots ranging in price from £130 to
£700 - and yes, that really does say £700.
The boots are available in a range of sizes including half sizes
and while you pay a hire charge for use of the boots, it's deductible
from the purchase price of the boots if you do decide to buy.
The proximity of the Pentlands and Loch Lomond National Park to
the two Tiso stores should make for easy practical testing and allow
customers to make an informed decision. You're advised to call the
shop and pre-book to avoid any disappointment.
David George of Outdoor Elements, the UK distributor of Raichle
boots says: "We supply many top notch specialist boot fitters around
the country and they do an excellent job. Some of our customers
would like the opportunity to try out mountaineering boots before
making the purchase and it's these people that we are
targeting. Selecting specialist shops at key locations in the
UK seemed an ideal launch-pad for our pilot scheme".
Boot fitting is always potentially problematic, so the option to
trial the boots makes a lot of practical sense.
