Teva, the
company which kicked off the whole rafting sandal / hybrid thing, is
going back to its roots with the resurrection of its first ever sports
sandal in the form of The
Original, a modern replica of the, erm, original Teva.
The design last saw action some 25 years ago, but while it looks like
its predecessor, the 21st Century incarnation has been subtly tweaked
with modern technology to improve performance. That means it gets SSR
rubber on its outsole to give secure grip on wet rock and a Shoc Pad in
the heel takes the sting out of foot strike on harder surfaces.
Meanwhile the mid-sole features lightweight cushioning.
There's a quick release buckle for rapid entry and exit and the sandal
is a thong style one. Price is £50
and we have a pair on the way, so we'll let you know how
the combination of retro styling and modern construction does.

Where in the British Isles can one buy the original first sandal. I can only find them on American site and they charge $50 for delivery by standard post. Thanks Liam Molamphy
