Trouble tracking down your tent after a hard night's, erm,
walking? Orange have the answer with a new tent that incorporates GSM
Technology allowing you to track it down in the most crowded camping
field using texting.
The Orange Text Me Home Dome - it's orange, obviously - incorporates
a a receiver that, on receipt of a text message, flashes a light in
the top of the tent to guide you back to base. As long as you're
within range of a mobile phone, you can find you tent.
Before you get all excited though, the idea's aimed more at
festival goers than hardcore outdoors people. On the other hand, if
you've ever tried to track down your canvas refuge after a hard night
out at the Old Dungeon Ghyll or the Wasdale Head Hotel, you'll
realise that outdoor technology could finally have hit on the killer
app.
Wrong numbers in the middle of the night could be a bit of a
bummer though ;-)

Mad, quite mad. Won't work in a lot of campsite in the lakes or Snowdon as there is no coverage. Definitly one for the gadget freaks
