More trail-running shoes for next spring plus proper walking boots.
Just back from a power elevenses session with
Timblerland's PR people
and a quick sneak look at what's new from the brand in terms of
trail-running footwear
and
walking boots
for spring 2010.
The company launched a new
Mountain
Athletics range this autumn with a full-on
trail-running shoe, the Route Racer and a more conservative,
lightweight walk-ish shoe, the Mountain Inferno. We actually have some
Inferno Mids in for review, but they size very small and we've only
just swapped them for a larger version, so watch this space for a
review.
For spring 2010, Timberland carries on with those two models, but
there's also a new, radical-looking shoe, the
All Mountain Run-Off
with a hydrophobic mesh upper borrowed from watersports shoes and
designed to cope with trail and water use including river crossings.
They feel extremely light - 520 grammes per pair apparently - use a
Salomon-type quick pull lacing system, feature a neat internal neoprene
cuff which runs around from the top of the tongue section and - like
the current range - Green Rubber outsole units which are 42% recycled.
Price when they appear around February 2010 will be
£65.
Walking Boots Too
Timberland also has a range of walking boots, mostly
they're low level, rambly things, but new for next spring is a
selection of full-on three-season boots, the
Washington Summit Series.
We don't have a lot of information on them, but this version, with a
suede and fabric upper plus Gore-Tex liner and a Vibram sole unit look
neat and will retail for £115.
