Tiso Glasgow Outdoors Experience - the innovative Scottish store
which has its own artificial ice-climbing wall and weather chamber -
has scooped the Go Outdoors Retailer of the Year Award awarded at the
trade show in Harrogate.
Up against 500 other outdoors stores nominated by almost 6000
customers, Tiso won the award after a rigorous assessment of all 21
shortlisted stores carried out by a team of 'mystery shoppers' from a
retail research specialist.
The prize for the Tiso staff was a cheque for £1000 and a
trophy. 'Since opening our doors just over two years ago,' says
manager Paul Prentice. 'We have been working tirelessly to ensure our
customers not only receive the best service anywhere, but to provide
a unique and exciting atmosphere every time they walk through the
door. Winning this award provides our team with recognition for the
hard work we have put in.' Beers all round then...
There were also six regional award winners:
• Itchy Feet, Bath
• YHA Adventure Shops, Oxford
• The Peak Store, Bakewell
• George Fisher, Keswick
• Tiso, Glasgow (as above)
• Stewart R Cuningham Outdoor Centres, Betws-y-Coed
• Tiso, Londonderry
