Green in both senses of the word...

We're having a bit of a sleeping mat week on the site, we've just run a 'Just In' on the Pacific Outdoor Equipment Ether Elite Mat, but the company also has – new for 2010 – the Uber Lite, which it says is an ultra-light self-inflating mat that's ideal for weight weenies who still want to maintain a semblance of overnight comfort.

The artfully shaped mat weighs just 241 grammes and packs down to a similar size as a one-litre water botlle, but still measures a reasonably generous 43cm x 94cm x 2.5cm.

The mat uses Bluesign accredited performance fabrics made from recycled PET, uses multiple cross-core drilled foam and even has a hard anodised recycled aluminium inflation valve. As you can see from the image, the foam is carefully shaped to minimise weight but still provide comfort and insulation.

As with other mats from the brand, the Uber Lite has welded seams and is coated only with PU rather than PVC, which has environmental issues. The Uber Lite mat is available now for £44.99. More information from www.pacoutdoor.com. Stockist info from 0116 234 4644.
