It's festival season with Glastonbury looming at the weekend and if you're an outdoors person with an expensive tent, you might want to think about a cheaper, more trashable option as an alternative.

The good news is that you can still pick up something quite sound for around £50 or so. There are plenty of options out there, but a couple that caught our eye are from Vango.

New for this spring is the Vango Zetes - it's a simple tunnel tent with two equal-length poles and all in one pitching with the fly and inner tent already connected making for rapid erection. Tunnels use space very effectively giving you enough space to sleep, store and even sit around in when you're not taking in the bands.

Vango Zetes 300

The Zetes comes in two-person and three-person versions is completely waterproof with a built-in groundsheet, has a neat storage porch complete with an extendable, zipped canopy door. Prices are £45 for the two-person version and £55 for the three-person one.

If you want to push the boat out a little further and have something a tad more distinctive and, erm, dare we say it, Bohemian then check out the range of Vango Peace Tepee tents complete with flower print for that authentic Woodstock flavour.

Vango Peace Tepee

The Tepee, as you might have surmised, is a neat tepee-style design that's available in three, five or eight-person versions so you can share with up to seven mates. Style costs a little more with prices at £100, £150 and £250 respectively. The Peace Tepee has taped seams, reflective webbing, a lantern point and tough but light alloy poles. Looks great.

And if the Peace Tepee's a tad pricey, check out the more affordable, brightly coloured Juno Tepee in three, five and eight person versions again. The five-person version retails for around £80.

Of course you can simply pop down to your local supermarket or catalogue store and pick up something rock-bottom cheap, but it's worth bearing in mind that you can get something from an established outdoor brand for not a lot more.
