Craghoppers caught a generosity bug a month or two ago and before they could recover, one OMer ended up with a bumper parcel of their gear - £500 worth of it, to be precise. Not a bad way to start the summer.
The company make poles and packs and a few accessories, but concentrates mostly on outdoor clothing manufacture, including insect-repellant and sun-protective gear. The insect-repelling stuff has gone down particularly well recently, as it helps combat Lyme Disease, which is on the up at the moment.
To win £500 of their gear, we asked the name of their sun-protective range though. Just in case there are any lingering doubts about the answer, it wasn't WeatherDry or, erm, LunarDry - the Craghoppers' range of astronauts' clothing has yet to be released apparently:-) It's actually SolarDry clothing - sounds sensible really.
There were lots of entries and unfortunately only one stash of gear, so this time the winner is ...
Pauline Irvine
She says: "I await a bit parcel like a child waiting for Father Christmas!!' Well, a craghopping Santa makes at least as much sense to us as a flying and reindeer-driving Santa:-)
Pauline could choose her own gear options, up to the £500 limit, and she went for some Classic Kiwi zip offs, a Miska Microfleece, Fusion Polo, and Microna Jacket, amongst other things. Full details of the range on the Craghoppers website.
For those who didn't manage to add any more walking gear to their wardrobe this time around, there are plenty of competitions still on the go on the OM competition page. Try a walking holiday in Austria or a Therm-a-rest, and there are always five pairs of trusty Bridgedale Trekker socks on offer in the gallery too.
Good luck!
