Okay, listen in. We have an astonishing £1500-worth of new The North Face, A5 casual bouldering clothing to give away on the site this week. That's 57 items in a sort of massive virtual lucky dip, so you're in with a pretty good chance of winning.

Why? Well first, because we love you all and, let's be honest, the A5 kit we've seen and worn is spot on. The clothing may be labelled as 'bouldering wear', but as far as we can see, a lot of it is as likely to see serious crag action as 'surf wear' is to catch real waves - for more pics of A5, see the links at the bottom of this page.

As part of the A5 launch, The North Face is encouraging people to expand their horizons this Saturday April 5th, which has been designated A5 Day - A5 / April 5, geddit?

They've taken a step into the unknown by arranging try climbing and bouldering events at over 20 climbing walls nationwide. The idea is that you roll up at a convenient wall, pay a very modest fee and you'll be introduced to bouldering and basic climbing by expert instructors.

On top of that, each of the participating walls has 100 A5 tee-shirts and 200 A5 grip-strengthening balls to give away on the day, so you may also walk away with a cool new top or new balls.

But the real reward is trying something new and different - expanding your horizons, lighting up your life and simply having a good time. Plus if you've always meant to try climbing as a logical extension of mountain walking and scrambling, it's going to be a great time to start with the whole of spring and summer spread out before you.
