Fantastic news for Dutch climbers and Lancashire mill workers from
American boot company Montrail
- they've created the world's first mountaineering
clog...

Just imagine these with the tops
chopped off...

According to US mega-mag Outside,
the VerClog was created to 'poke fun' at the latest US outdoor fad of
stylish clogs as after sport wear. The clog was specially adapted
from Montrail's Verglas technical mountaineering boot by a crafty
cobbler so still features a rigid wooden last for front-pointing
rigidity, insulation and a bloody great rand...
Picture a sawn-off Verglas and you've pretty much got it. The sad
news though is that the VerClog is actually a one-off spoof and
curiously there are no plans for mass production. A shame really as
it'd give unrivalled ankle mobility for those difficult technical
moves...
'A little mouse with clogs on, there on the fall, right
there...'
