Biggles Climber Cleared Over War Protest

A former RAF officer, related to the real life Biggles, has been cleared by a court after climbing a city office block to protest against the war in Iraq

A former RAF officer and climber who scaled an office block in a protest against the war in Iraq has been cleared of causing a public nuisance by Southwark Crown Court.

Stephen Wigglesworth unveiled a banner carrying a message to Tony Blair on a 40-foot ledge on the city building but was later arrested. If the name sounds vaguely familiar, it's because Wigglesworth is apparently a relation of Commodore Sir Philip Wigglesworth, who provided the inspiration for the fictional RAF flying ace 'Biggles'.
