Stop Press: Eskdale Meet Change
We've had a last minute change of campsite for this weekend's OM meet in Eskdale. The venue remains the same, but we're staying a few miles up the road and nearer to the pub :-)

Anyone coming on this weekend's OUTDOORSmagic Meet in
Eskdale should note that we've had a last minute change of
campsite.
The meet is still in Eskdale on the weekend of 15/17
September but the venue is now Hollins Farm - see
www.hollinsfarmcampsite.co.uk
just a few miles up the road from the original campsite. It's also,
fortuitously, closer to the pub.
The
campsite has put aside a special sanitised area for OMers, so please
book in before pitching and tell the campsite owners that you're with
OUTDOORSmagic so they can direct you to the appropriate part of the
site.
All the other details remain as
before with OM routes editor and technical whizz Dave Mycroft
holding an informal GPS workshop and displaying some of the latest
GPS units on offer, plus Bob 'Podcast' Cartwright from
www.backpackinglight.co.uk showing off some of his latest
ultra-lightweight kit.
It
should be a great weekend and an opportunity to meet other OMers, the
editor and routes editor included, plus go walking, climbing or
scrambling in a beautiful area.
As it looks like we're going to be a relatively large group,
please follow campsite regulations and, in particular, keep the noise
down after closing time and don't frighten the sheep.
There's more information on the meet on the forum, see link
below.
Look forward to seeing some of you there :-)

Due to problems with Fisherground not wanting so many people in one group the venue for the meet has changed. Please note the meet is now a couple of miles further down the road at Hollins Farm. When arriving please note that you HAVE to sign in before pitching your tent etc. Also it's important that you state you are with OUTDOORSMagic! We will be in the seperate field opposite the toilet block - not alongside the entrance road. Also p[lease note that Hollins Farm do not allow open fires :( Sorry for any inconvenience, although Hollins Farm is actually a much better site and is nearer the pub. Please pass the information above on to anyone else you know who is intending coming. Thanks Dave
