Friday Matinee - Our Wonderful “Summer”
Three great online videos celebrating the wonderful “summer” we’re having

First up is a video from the Wiggle Mountain Mayhem 24-hour Mountain Bike race from the Scott race team. Going slightly slower than the Scott team, but still finishing a credible 10th in the Vets, were Peaked Already (get it, old and from the Peak District), that included myself and your esteemed editor Jon Doran. It really was a mud-fest but strangely enjoyable in a perverse way. Best of luck to Jon who’s soloing this weekend at Twentyfour 12, hopefully conditions will be a bit better.
Next is a short video from last weekends Whaley Waltz Fell Race. A lovely race organised by Goyt Valley Striders that climbs up to Windgather Rocks and is a perfect “first-time” fell race. The slight sting in the tail is the river crossing right at the end. This clip shows how not to do it and I guarantee you’ll watch it more than once.
Finally, and I know this video has done the rounds, but it’s an epic bit of bravery/insanity. I apologise for the music, the commentary and the unfortunate “Channel Name” but it goes to show what real bad weather looks like and that you can still have fun in it.
