Frostbite The Easy Way...

Why slog up high mountains when you can simply switch on the air con in your Jag and watch your toes turn a darker shade of blue?

You can hear the national newspaper journos rubbing their hands together in glee with the news that a Jaguar driver has suffered mild frostite after exposing his naked foot to the air conditioning of his swishmobile.

Mike Ball, 36, a solicitor from Manchester drove from London to Manchester with the air con full on and directed at his naked, insect-bitten foot - the car was an automatic, so the foot was superfluous anyway. The next day one of his toes developed tell-tale signs of frostnip developing a blackened colour...

Jaguar apparently say that the air con only goes down to 3 degrees C, but you have to think things got a tad cooler. And there was us thinking you needed to drag yourself up alpine north faces in winter to mangle your tootsies...

More details see: The Grauniad or The Sun which has a pic, but sadly not of the toes or Femail which places Mr Ball in Liverpool rather than Manchester. All the same these northern cities yer know.

Mr Ball, says the Mail, 'said he had received "almost zero sympathy" from his wife Louise and two daughters.' Nice.
