Karakoram Lecture In The Peak

Here's one for the diary if you're out and about the Peak District next Wednesday 15 January.

The event is an Alpine Club Northern Lecture on 'Shaksgam and the North Side of K2' by Steve Razzetti.

Who he? Steve Razzetti is one of Britain most experienced mountain travellers who has trekked much of the Himalaya and even he said his chin hit the floor when he arrived in the Shaksgam Valley. He'll be giving a lecture on this stunning area as well as giving a report on the situation for travelling in Pakistan for those who would rather approach the Karakoram from the south side. All those with an interest are invited to come.

Venue is Longlands above Outside in Hathersage and it kicks off at 7.30 pm.
