Just one week before the first Outdoor Adventure Show at Islington's Business Design Centre and it's guaranteed to be dry and warm as well. Here's what's happening...
A reminder for southern-based folk that there's just a week to go
before the first ever Outdoor Adventure Show at the Business Design
Centre in Islington.
Put together by the people behind the massively successful OS
Outdoors Show in Birmingham, the new event's aimed squarely at
London's outdoor community with three days of outdoors action, erm,
indoors.
If you've been to the Birmingham show, you'll have an idea of what
to expect, and it's looking good. Here are just a few of the
attractions you'll be able to find at the show:
Loads Of Exhibitors
We're not going to list them all, not least because the official
site is handily located next door - just click on the 'Outdoor Adv
Show' link on the menu at the top of this page, but you'll be able to
browse and chat with companies from all areas of the outdoors from
gear shops, through major brands like Berghaus and Sprayway to top
adventure travel oufits like Exodus.
You can also chat to the guys from outdoors mags like Trail and,
of course, our magazine partners, TGO - see what's in the new
March
issue now.
That's just scratching the surface and we'll be bringing you more
top attraction details on the site next week, so watch this space.
Berghaus Outdoor Adventure Theatre
You'll be able to catch a load of top speakers at the show
including Berghaus-sponsored 8,000-metre man Alan Hinkes, top young
climber Leo Houlding, youngest Brit' up Everest and anti-perspirant
guru Bear Grylls, Rannulph Fiennes and loads more. Check the speaker
programme here.
Bouldering
You'll be able to catch some top indoor climbing action with
competitors from the Southern Indoorl Bouldering League battling it
out for the Ford Ranger Bouldering Cup supported by Urban Rock.
There's action right across Saturday and Sunday, with the finals
taking place from 9.00 am on the Sunday morning.
Tiso Outdoor Workshops
Unlock the technical mysteries of the outdoors with help from top
experts like Trail's Graham Thompson on kit and Alun Davies of
Adventure Travel Magazine talking about expedition planning. Plus
loads more including women's winter climbing skills, adventure racing
with Gary Tompsett, advanced map reading advice from the OS and hints
on using GPS and digital maps among others. Full programme here.
When, where, how much etc?
Dates are 6-8 February, but for full details including how to get
tickets, opening times, exhibitor lists and so on, just take a look
