The great thing about the web is that there's so much useful information out there and that includes out there in the heads of OUTDOORSmagic users.

We thought it would be great to tap into some of that reservoir of expertise for the overall benefit of everyone who uses the site, so we're launching a new feature called Mountain of the Month. It's your opportunity to contribute to an ongoing resource.

Here's how it works: at regular intervals - clue in the title - we'll nominate a mountain and ask you to get stuck in. What we want are things like the following:

Pictures - got some great digital snaps you want to share?

Memorable days on the mountain? Perfect day or epic, just tell us about it.

Favourite Routes mainstream or little known, which ones you love and why.

Places to stay, pubs and caffs which are your favourite local facilities and why?

What's good and bad Strong and weak points?

This month's mountain is that old North Welsh favourite Tryfan - - home of one of the best scrambles in North Wales, handily located a poodle's width away from the A5 and even complete with its own summit stunt.

Just title your submission 'Tryfan' and e-mail it to us in the next five days and we'll do the rest.

My favourite mountain is always the last one climbed. I have been walking (Mainly Munros) for a few years now and I have to admit that there are some walks I have prefered to others. Back in September 2003 I took my then 9 month old Cocker Spaniel pup,Lucy, for her first taste of what was to come to the Corbett, Ben Rinnes. She loved it - I loved it. To break her in gently we continued with Corbetts and then discovered GRAHAMS - lower but with just as much character and better views than a lot of the Munros. To date she has completed 10 MUNROS,several TOPS, 10 CORBETTS, 10 GRAHAMS and a few "OTHER" hills. Every walk we go on has special memories. After the walk I log the walk using the MUNROS & CORBETTS programs by Isys. Telling friends and family of our day out always ends with the words "ITS THE BEST WALK I'VE EVER DONE" Until the next one!

My favorite will allways be the first one I climbed when I was 13, Great Gable, we did the traverse and I was hooked, Got a beautifull painting of the mountain painted from LingMell by my Dads wife and you can pick out the traverse on the painting.

Off topic but one of my mongrels tried to have his wicked way with a young Cocker Spaniel, last year on West Lomond. Wasn't yours was it?

Apologies on his behalf if it was :o)
