It's an orgy of mountain radio programmes on Radio 4 today with no
less than three programmes. And if you're stuck in the office, hmm,
well... Never mind.
Radio 4 is on 92.4-94.6 FM.
The White Spider - 9.45 am / 00.30 am
Ooops, a bit late with this one, but this week's Radio 4 Book of
the Week is the Heinrich Harrer' classic 'The White Spider'.
The book is an account of the early attempts to scale the
legendary North Face of the Eiger and extracts are being read daily
on Radio 4 at 9.45 am with a repeat at half past midnight.
A High Place - 11.00 am Tuesday
Not only, but also... At 11 a.m on Tuesday - that's today - on
Radio 4, you can listen to the first of a two-part exploration of the
world's holy mountains with poet Michael Simmons Roberts starting
with Mount Olympus.
Afternoon Play - Ice Mountain - 2.15 pm Tuesday
Radio 4 at 2.15 this afternoon - Tuesday - play about woman
attempting to become first lass to climb K2.
