On The Box Last Night...

An ideal antidote to David Blaine as Channel 4 follow a bunch of French 'free runners' as they somersault and vault their way across some of London's best-known landmarks.

Jump London: C4 22:00

One programme that looks unmissable is tonight's Channel 4 documentary 'Jump London' featuring a group of French 'free-runners' as they bounce their way across some of the capital's most famous landmarks.

If you caught the BBC 'advert' featuring a dark, muscular, gallic chappy somersaulting his way home from the office, you'll have an idea of what to expect, viz, spectacular jumps, somersaults, running up vertical walls etc.

Apparently the whole sport kicked off when a bunch of bored Parisian teenagers were playing at being 'ninja superheroes' in their local park, since then it's grown to international cult status. Beats getting the tube anyway and arguably indoor climbing walls as well...

Check out this French site, for more information. Oh, and there's even a British branch of the sport - see this web site.
