Following on from our sneak preview of Alastair Lee's forthcoming film, PSYCHE in last week's Friday Matinee, here's a late heads up on a chance to see not one but three of his award-winning films on the giant screen at Rheged in the Lakes on Thursday 6 September.

Kicking off at 7.00pm, you can see Twice Upon A Time In Bolivia, Storms: The Movie and Set In Stone, all three past award winners at the Kendal Mountain Film Festival and all quite different films.

We've watched them all and we can promise you a very entertaining evening if you're in the northern Lakes this week with some time to spare.

Tickets are £6.50 and you can also order a two-course supper for £11.00. More details at www.rheged.com where you'll also find a run down of other forthcoming events at the National Mountaineering Exhibition including lectures by the likes of Chris Bonington, Doug Scott, George Band and Cameron McNeish.

An excellent evenings viewing. 3 quite different films.

Storms: The Movie won't be to everyone's taste. Some wacky micky takes out of some classic mountaineering books/films and people. Not sure who Chris Boneington is! (Not its not a spelling mistake). He's the bearded guy at the top of the report.

The evening got more serious with "Twice upon a time in Bolivia". A humorous account of climbing some of Bolivia's easier classic peaks. Some amazing filming in this one. Well worthy of the Kendal award.

To top it all, the last serious film was about the life of the legendary rock and Ice climber Dave Birkett. A great insight into a remarkable Lake District climber.

I would recommend watching these films if you get the chance. Well worth the trip up from Kendal for the evening. A shame there weren't many people there.
