Hi,

If we had a crystal ball we could look into the future; then again, if crystal balls really worked then we’d have copped the winning lottery numbers months ago and would be writing this by satellite phone from somewhere in the Himalayas.

The next best thing was the recent Outdoor Preview trade show in Harrogate where we got a sneak look at what’s new for 2007 from some of the big names in the industry including Berghaus, Brasher, La Sportiva, Salomon and Merrell, with more to come.

Elsewhere on the site, this week’s route is not one, but three scrambles, plus a guide to the notorious Bad Step on Crinkle Crags in the Lakes; check out the latest, greatest gallery images in our weekly round-up; plus OM’s Susan Vittery talks pants as usual, oh, sorry, she tests some Paramo Azuma Vents.

There’s loads more, but we also thought we’d take this opportunity to remind you a little of the iceberg-like depth of content that we’ve thoughtfully buried under the OM patio. Did you know that we have a handy Classified Section where you can buy and sell used outdoor gear?

And how about the Buyers’ Guides section where you can find basic information on what to look for in different types of kit from rock boots to rucksacs? Then of course there’s the Routes Section where you can find all our walking and scrambling routes in one place.

And of course, there’s also the forum, user review system and the outstanding OM Gallery. So if you’re at a loose end, why not have a whirl round the site? You might find something you weren’t expecting.

Speaking of which, there’s always the weekly Outdoors Diary direct from Muckthwaite. Now there’s a place you probably won’t want to visit...

Have a top weekend,

Jon and the team at OUTDOORSmagic.com
