We like to kidnap you and take you away, far away. In fact we want
to take you to Chamonix
the, erm, Chamonix of the Alps and home of some of the best mountain
walking and climbing on earth. Susan Vittery gives you the low down -
you'll never guess where she's just come back from...
Of course, if you don't want to go, you could always check out the
latest on OUTDOORSmagic. We've been busy testing stuff in the form of
a very nice new pair of Asolo mountain walking boots
and a neat Haglöfs pack, the Tight
Evo.
Scoop gear news too with a first glimpse of Lowe Alpine's 2007
load-lugger, the TFX
which apparently has something to do with blurry nipples and
inflatable lumbar supports. Also new, but due out in just a few weeks'
time, is a 100-gramme waterproof jacket and a very funky fleece from
the fellas at Montane.
Almost finally, because we're useless, we forgot to tell you who
won the Bridgedale / OUTDOORSmagic Photo
of the Month award in last week's newsletter, which was a bit
dense really. Competition for August looks even better with some
amazing mountain images from all over the world being uploaded to the
gallery - check out this week's Gallery
Round-Up.
Last but not least, this week's route is a cracking circuit of the
Ballachulish
Horseshoe in Glencoe.
Have a top week,
