'unlikely to encourage
individuals to carry out such practices on living animals'
Knowing the love-hate relationship between walkers and climbers
and sheep - no, let's not go there - we couldn't resist this one
(oops)...
The worrying word on the hillsides is that the Advertising
Standards Authority has given the go-ahead to an alocopops ad'
featuring a sheep wearing a leather face mask, suspenders, stockings,
studded dog collar and stilettoes. No really...
A concerned RSPCA apparently objected on the grounds that the
image might encourage 'irresponsible behaviour' towards animals
generally and presumably sheep in particular, though we have to say
that it would take a lot more than a few glugs of a 5.3 per-cent
alcoholic beverage to push us over that particular metaphorical
dry-stone wall.
The ASA ruling found that the ad was 'unlikely to encourage
individuals to carry out such practices on living animals'. Dead
ones, presumably are okay then?
The ad' promotes concoction called WKD - Alocoholic Iron Brew,
apparently a 'combination of vodka and caffeine plus different
flavours'. I am reliably informed by young people that WKD is short
for 'wicked'. Don't believe it? You can read the original story from
Ananova here.
(Sorry, we've been nunable to locate a pic of the sheep, but it's
only a matter of time).
While we're on the subject of sheep, in a tragic incident, an
elderly American couple have been killed by a rampaging ovine, click
here
for full details and if you're Italian, you can adopt
a sheep on the internet and get to watch it on the web, and have
its cheese, wool and, er, dropping posted to you. Fantastic.
