You're not imagining things, the menus really have changed and so has the way that OM's content is organised to make things easier to find and use, enjoy...
If you were using the site late on Monday evening, you may have
noticed some strange goings on - creaking in the bedrooms, menu
headings disappearing and coming back differently and doors slamming
for now reason.
Yep, our very own haunted site. In reality though, we've just had
a great big virtual rehash of the way OUTDOORSmagic is put together
with the aim of making it easier to find and work your way through
the huge amount of information, reviews, news and features on the
site. It's all a lot more logical as well.
New Headings
If
you look up at the top of the page, you'll see a menu bar and if
you're feeling really observant, you might even notice that the
headings have changed. What we've done is to reorganise all the
content of the site into different categories so you'll find all the
'Gear' articles, news, Richard Gear and relevant section of
the forum under the menu heading that says, erm, 'Gear'.
Click on it now and see what happens ;-)
Sorry, couldn't resist it. The same's true of 'Holidays and
Travel' and 'Reviews' - we've tweaked the user review
interface slightly as well. There's also a new category called 'On
The Hill' which covers general stuff, news and hill skills,
features and more as well as linking to the Meets and Partners
section of the forum. 'Forum' is self explanatory really.
And A Short-Cut Box
There's also a new-fangled short-cut box in the top lefthand
corner of the page, the one under the 'Looking for something'
header, which you can use like a sort of instantaneous transporter
beam to anywhere on the site you feel like going to.
So, have a play, see what you think and if you encounter any
problems - materialising on the surface of Gandalfo 3 with it's
alarming multiple moons for example, then please use the forum thread
linked to below to tell us all about it.
We're confident that it's going to make the site better and easier
to use. And no, we're not going back to orange :-)
