Forecasts
Saturday Intermittently gusty in
wet and nw highlands but even there, little effect on walkers.
Elsewhere low winds, dry, little cloud, extensive sunshine and
tempertatures on the tops around 7-8˚C.
Sunday
Same again.
Outlook 'Unbroken
sun for many mountain areas throughout the weekend, and cloud well
broken even where it forms. Daytime temperatures highest on Sunday,
with 20C in parts of the Scottish Highlands. Still fine and settled
through much of next week, but as wind drift into the northeast or
north, it will turn colder, and banks of cloud (at times covering
higher areas) will be persistent for periods, particularly toward the
east. Generally light winds. The still substantial snow across much of
the Scottish Highlands will thaw by day, particularly over the weekend,
but the thaw will slow markedly by Tuesday.'
Check specific forecasts for details as the weekend
progresses.

Web Cams:
If there's one that we've
missed, please drop
us a line and we'll
add it to the page.
Good for getting a general idea of what the snow situation's like, if
the sun is shining, whether there's anywhere to park in Coniston etc.
Check the image you're viewing is
up to date as
they often seem to go down. Recently overhauled so most cameras
featured are actually working :-) If you find one isn't or have a new
addition we should know about, please let us know.
Sunny, bright,
clean, light winds, good visibility.
Winter apears
to be over.
Looks like spring on the hills
this weekend with summit temperatures forecast to be around 7-8˚C, low
winds, mostly unbroken sunshine, good visibility and an all-round thaw
on Scottish hills. Don't forget the sun cream and enjoy.
Obvious
Disclaimer Hey come on, we all know mountain weather's
unpredictable, and while the above forecasts and links are a guide to
what the weather may do, remember that mountain areas also tend to
generate their own conditions, temperatures are much cooler up top
than in the valleys and conditions can be totally different from down
in the valleys.
