Woodhead A Climber Shocker

Just in case you were asleep and missed it all, Chris Woodhead, who has just resigned as the chief inspector of schools and - pause for condemnation - had an affair with one of his pupils while a teacher, is - cue fanfare - a climber.

We know this because just about every report of his resignation was adorned with pictures of Mr Woodhead climbing or featured neat little observations on how Mr Woodhead would be seeking refuge in his beloved mountains etc.

We should, of course, add that Woodhead's ex-wife, Cathy, is also a keen climber and an honary Vice President of the British Mountaineering Council with responsibilities including 'Climbing Wall and International Committees, Staff and Equity issues and two Area Committees'.

So thanks to OUTDOORSmagic, you no longer need read dull reports about political resignations just to work out why there's a piccy of the Demon Headmaster in rock climbing gear at the top. The Demon Headmaster, of course, looks more like Jack Straw than Chris Woodhead, but we reckon there is a passing resemblance to the latter as well.
