Tim, I'm neither medic nor social worker and my advice is to follow your heart and give his mother the heads up and blox to any pc issues about confidentiality. . . your lodger is not only failing in his responsibility to himself, but also he is dumping some pretty serious consequencies on you. If my lodger behaved like that, he wouldnt be my lodger for very long and you cannot help anyone who dosnt want to be helped. . .[on release from hospital he will have receivd reams of helpful literature & advice about protecting his health which he is clearly choosing to ignore, so let him take resonsibility for that. It is not your problem andyou cant put a sticky plaster on all the world. Terminate the arrngement before your life gets any more complicated.
Cheers G, re white spirit : my Whisperlite Inter and Dragonfly both run well on this & its a fraction of the price of white gas... in these fuel expensive & excessively taxed times I find my thoughts drifting toward the question of just how well an in internal combustion engine will run on it! and just think of the pleasure of saving some tax pounds from being wasted on some pc hare brained eyecatching initiative !
Hi G-Ject, need the benefit of a scientific opinion . . . would you mind checking out my post in the classified section under MSR Dragonfly re fuel additives . . .thanks in anticipation.
Thanks SA. contaminated fuel is a pain . . . had similar experience in Western Argentina, but with an MSR Whisperlite Interntl ; the fuel just coked up all the pipework and for a few days it seemed that I was going to be the proud owner of the only Whisperlite in the world that wouldnt work,. This was on the local unleaded tho' and even after double filtering, so I wondered if the fuel additives for car use had anything to do with the poor performance. Perhaps one of you scientists out there might be able to throw some light on this . . . Peter Clinch, G-ject ? anyone ? And has anyone got any figures for fuel consumption at altitude for the Dragonfly ? . . .details like this can make the planning more effective [ Nepal 08/09 ] Thanks
