Krish said,

Is there anyone who is planning to do this route in June/July this year? I'd be interested to link up and have the luxury of a car at both ends of the route!
Krish

Myself and at least one other intend traversing the Welsh 3000 on option 1 the 20/21 June, or option 2 the 27/28 June, starting Snowdon 6am approx and hopefully arriving Foel Fras give or take 14hrs later. Have completed this route twice previously.

If still interested post a response & PM me with some contact details.

Thanks all, especially The Domino Queen for a great weekends walking.

Regret not lugging my SLR up Moel Siabod on Sunday and missing the excellent phto opportunities, but glad i didn't take it up Snowdon on Monday for which i stayed on. Up via the Pyg in a modest 1hr 50 mins, had intended coming down via Crib Goch northridge but weather was horrendous so decided to beat a hasty retreat back down the Pyg, pleased to say that i set myself a new PB having regained Pen Y Pas 50mins later.

  Cheers Dave

Will be watching out for future meets.

Been watching the posts for a while.

Over the last 2 years out of 4 attempts have completed the Welsh 3000 twice, the 1st with another forum member in 14hrs 35m, the 2nd solo in 13hrs 55m both completions took in Castell Y Gwynt 16 peaks in total, actually thats a lie the 1st completion also took in Foel Goch (Oops).

My preference is the official route starting Snowdon the one you supposedly need to take for recording times. Ialso agree with some of the posts in that it makes for an easier and safer finish.

My goal is to hopefully complete it in 12hrs eventually and intend making at least one attempt in 2012.

Even with some experience its easy to make mistakes which can cost you time and effort so will be out some time soon to traverse and refine navigation on one or more of the sections.

If 10k Star or anyone else is interested in teaming up let me know.

Hi Dave

I Also frequent the Malvern hills with my Collie/Spaniel crosses and live just IN Ledbury, think i may have jogged past you more than once recently. If you fancy meeting up Post/PM me.

Have also recently been attending the Malvern Joggers meets.

Will shortly be teaming up with another forummer in Snowdonia to traverse the Welsh 3000, a serious challenge, dont know whether thats within your remit. ?.

Cheers from another Dave
