Only 47 on Striding Edge, you caught it on a quiet day then, I saw a couple of dozen on the crest of Swirral Edge too, although some of them didn't look like they were having fun )
If you want a quiet route to Scafell Pike, just past Cam Spout is the steep grassy ascent of Pen, a fine little summit, then a rocky clamber to the Pike but you won't see a soul until you reach the plateau
West Wall Traverse is on the left just before you reach the fallen boulder. I usually walk to the top end of Lord's Rake and then walk back again for the West Wall Traverse and Deep Gill climb to Scafell.
It is my before & after photos you can see on the MRT site, it always seemed pretty solid but obviously it wasn't, I suspect that the boulders will continue to move downwards and care is needed when you go past. The guys who were there at the time had a remarkably near miss, when the boulders move again you better not be in the way.
