You have been helpful as my descripton wasn't very clear! (first time posting in this section, as you could probably guess) I agree I think they are great and thats why I bought them but I wouldn't recommend hiking munros with a 27kg backpack!

It depends what you are wearing on yur feet http://www.facewest.co.uk/Kahtoola-MicroSpikes.html The illustration shows the range of UK sizes. The XL will fit shoes 13.5 and up but insulated boots 10.5-13.

Agreed Kinley, I admit the cost is high, although it is difficult to make a loss on something you haven't used! In which case I'll offer the spikes for £33 posted otherwise they're off to Fleabay!

£40 Posted -  I'm selling a pair of brand new and unused XL Kahtoola Microspikes. I bought them last year in the hope of using them but never had the oppertunity, I have now bought a pair of crampons for more serious walking so have no need for them. XL size is recomended for UK sizes 10 - 13 but If anyone is interested I did try them on my size 14 boots and they did fit.
