Take the pair of compacted poles and holding them together, put the tips through the loop at the centre of the pack. Twist the poles so that the loop wraps tightly round the tip until they are held securely. Then clip the shafts of the poles through the clip that the ice axe attaches with.
It's the new face fabric they are using. It retains DWR better than anything they have previously used, but unfortunately it's expensive. It's still not the most expensive hardshell on the market though!
