Kinda random.  On the SUW earlier this year we stopped at Galashiels.  We had phoned the campsite a few weeks earlier to make sure it existed, but after a meal and a few beers we walked to the site to find that it was now a 'building site' and all the tent pitches were gone for the time being.  We spotted a bloke in what looked like the owners van so we knocked on.  He explained that there was nowhere to camp, but put us up free of charge in one of his caravans.  Even brought us soup.  Would've been a miserable walk back into the hills to find a camp spot as it had been pissing down heavily for hours.  Thanks to that dude.  Though I have to admit we found everybody we met on this trail to be friendly and helpful.

The aether 70 is a superb piece of kit.  Covered a couple thousand miles with mine now and it's only really started showing wear recently and nothing major.  Sometimes wish I'd got the 60l version though as the only time it's been filled to near capacity is when I've been humping a sack of coal/logs to a bothy.  Everybody I know who raves about their large capacity packs I get to try my Aether and without exception they give it the thumbs up.  Can't fault it.

That's a real shame.  I'd heard the store was closing, but hadn't realised they were going completely offline.  Got some great bargains off them and good service as well.  I'm sure they will be missed by many.

Go Outdoors have the craggy things for 18 quid at the mo. They're great. Hard wearing and comfy. Tried loads of others and have reverted to only buying the kiwis for hillwalking.
